At Mortimer Court Chambers we are authorised to conduct litigation (in other words do the solicitors work as well) so you will not need to file & serve documents, make bundles or gather your own evidence.

Litigation can be very expensive especially when you have more than one specialist lawyer working on your case which is why coming to Mortimer Court Chambers can save you a great deal in legal fees using only a barrister to exercise legal judgments.  One lawyer one fee.

Most direct access barristers do not conduct litigation and therefore you will have to do most of the solicitors work yourself.  Whilst this will save in fees it will be your responsibility to communicate with the court, file & serve documents, make court bundles and many other administrative tasks.  Normally a solicitor would undertake this work together with the responsibility to comply with court deadlines (failing to meet deadlines can be fatal to your case) and if you undertake this yourself you will not be insured if you make a mistake.

We are barrister who specialise in litigation and advocacy and you will have your barristers mobile number so you can talk directly to them or their assistant.   We are a truly client centric chambers and designed around our clients’ needs.

Traditionally you would need to hire both a solicitor and a barrister who will both charge a similar hourly rate.  You pay for both.  When you instruct us you only pay for one specialist, the barrister, unless your case needs more for different specialities.  Also, we use unqualified law student to undertake the administrative tasks at a fraction of the cost a solicitor would charge for a trainee solicitor.

We also have the latest software so that work involving large number of documents can be undertaken in a fraction of the time it would take a firm without up to date software.
